It’s been an interesting journey watching the young Sharks continue to develop their rugby skills.  Ryan is no exception.  Coming from the banner rookie year that brought us Steve ‘The Velvet Fog’ Tormey, Timmy ‘T-Mac’ McCall and Matt ‘Where Did He Go’ Pullen; Ryan has emerged as a perennial crowd favorite with his “Mighty Mouse” stature.  Relying on speed and a general disregard for his body Ryan can comfortably say that he has never missed a tackle, even when it meant a shoulder dislocation.  His family continues to support the club, so check out http://www.spgcustoms.com/ if you ever need anything pimped out.  Off the field I have also been very impressed with Ryan’s work with the Hibernians and Sharks in his effort to develop the sport of Rugby in Bucks County.  This interview is probably about the most he has ever said at one time as he is a man of few words.  (i.e. his best pick-up line at a bar goes something like this, “beer, huh?  I have a beer too.”)  The Sharks are wishing him the best of luck in the upcoming tryouts for the Tomahawk side that will be hosting the Irish Wolfhounds this St. Patrick’s Day (see Donnybrook Cup).

What was your greatest experience during the 2011 season?
Seeing the Sharks take the field again.

What is the greatest strength you brought to The Sharks last year?
Consistent play, decent fitness and leadership being given the captain honor a few times.

What do you plan to bring to team this season?
Pretty much more of the same, but hopefully an even higher level of fitness and rebuilt shoulder to go the full season. I just like to go out there and play the game leaving everything else behind when I step on the pitch giving my teammates 100% every chance I get.

Most Challenging aspect of playing rugby league in the AMNRL and for the Sharks:
This past season it was staying healthy and fit, not only myself, but as a team.

    Goals for the 2012 season:
Stay healthy, be fit, recruit, and help the Sharks win a Championship.

What does playing for The Sharks mean to you?
It means I get to play the greatest sport on land with the best friends anyone can ask for and I’m proud to be on that field with my teammates every chance I get.

What is your rugby league career goal?
Have fun at a competitive level and hopefully earn a spot to play for the Tomahawks.

What is most important to The Sharks Success Moving forward?
Recruiting quality players to create a player pool with a lot of depth and consistency.

Name one team in the AMNRL that you want to beat more than any other:
Whichever one we play in the Championship.

Who is your greatest influence in Rugby league?
The Sharks that helped make the team what it is today like Sal R, Justin Z, Phil S, Fred B, Zack P, and Tomo T.

What message would you like to send to the fans and competitors of The Bucks County Sharks?
I’d like to say thanks to any fans out there and let the good times roll, as for the competitors I’ll see you on the pitch. Also Like us on facebook @ Bucks County Sharks RLFC and follow us on twitter @bcsharks.
